wonderful place to visit is Monte Amiata, located between Grosseto and Siena's provinces. With its height of 1738 mt dominate the Val D'Orcia (Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano) toward north, Siena's hills (Chiusi, Chianciano, il Chianti) towards east and the big Maremma (Cinigiano, Pitigliano, Sovana, Scansano) in south-west direction. Monte Amiata is immersed in classical Tuscany and was for millenniums a territory with its landscapes and historical and geological prerogatives. |
The Argentario (Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole) is an important fishing point and a famous seaside resort. In Porto Santo Stefano you can take on board for Isola del Giglio (Lily Island) and Giannutri Island. Telamone is a renowned seaside resort and an etruscan archaeological site too.

Roccalbegna seems like springed out from the rocks that dominate itself. From the top is easy to follow the Albegna river's course that will flow to the sea running through hills and woods. Its houses are made with the same rocks. Its historical center is a rare jewel of medieval town planning with the romanesque church of Saint Pietro e Paolo, the austere towers, the boundary wall and the famous garden of "Cassero Senese". |
